What are the benefits of chiropractic care?
There are many benefits to receiving chiropractic care. Some of the more notable ones include pain management/pain mitigation, increased mobility and motion, reduced migraines, and improved activities of daily living (i.e.: walking the dog, tying your shoes, playing with your kids, hobbies, etc.)
Is chiropractic care right for me?
In an ideal world, chiropractic care would be beneficial for everyone. However, we don't live in an ideal world. There are certain medical conditions and injuries that chiropractic is unable to address.
What injuries or conditions would NOT be ideal for chiropractic care?
Some examples include
severe osteoporosis
acute fractures
individuals with tumors on or near the spine
known vascular anomalies (ie: aortic aneurysms)
bleeding disorders/on anti-coagulants
inflammatory conditions (ie: rheumatoid arthritis in the active phase)
joint instability (ie: grade 3/grade 4 spondylolisthesis).
As a medical professional, my goal is to make sure you are receiving care that is suitable for the medical condition you are coming in for. If you have questions regarding your specific medical conditions, please contact our office.
How often should I be seeing a chiropractor?
Chiropractic care is unique for each individual. There are two different treatment paths, active care and wellness care. The type of treatment is determined based on the exam findings. Under an active care plan, appointments are more frequent and the length of care can vary based on the medical condition. Wellness care consists of less frequent visits for individuals who are not treating for a specific medical condition but still wish to been seen - some describe it as "maintenance."
